Jacob’s E30

There was one car that caught my attention the very minute I walked in to the Status 2020 car show…this is that car.
Introducing Jacob’s 1990 E30 BMW 318i. This car caught my eye because of how simple and under the radar it is as far as styling. There’s nothing over the top or aggressive about it, it’s just a clean and simple car that happens to be rolling on some of my favourite wheels ever.

Jacob’s car has gone through a pretty wicked transformation in his year of ownership, as when he purchased the car it was in desperate need of some TLC. Jacob does almost all the work himself in the garage and has given the car a fresh coat of paint as the bonnet, roof and boot were all faded and peeling. He has also installed Airlift Performance air suspension with Airlift 3P management to get the car sitting how he wants it. He has also had the interior re-trimmed and added a wood-grain Nardi steering wheel to finish off the interior nicely.

Now let’s get back to those wheels for a minute. The Work Equip 01 has to be in my top 5 wheel designs of all time, right along side the Work Equip 03. Jacob’s wheels are 15 x 8.5 +3 with a 195/45/15 tyre up front and 15 x 9.5 +13 in a 205/50/15 in the rear. This makes for some pretty serious dish and an overall amazing looking set of wheels! To help get them fitting nicely, the car also has E46 lower control arms, Condor speed conversion bushings, E90 inner tie rods with E36 outer tie rods, to help with adjustability.

Is that a BMW using it’s indicator?!!?
