Let me introduce Dan’s M-Spec R34 GT-R, which is by todays standards a very rare and exclusive vehicle, being 1 of 366 M-Spec cars produced and 1 of just 39 that came in black!
Dan’s car is sporting some very subtle, yet tasteful mods which includes a replica Z-tune front bumper and front fenders with a replica R-tune bonnet, pressed double black Volk Rays TE37 wheels in 18 x 10.5 +15 wrapped in 275/35/18 Hankook RS4 tyres. Hiding behind the TE37’s is a full set of Endless brakes, 6 piston callipers up front with 355mm rotors and 4-piston callipers with 335mm rotors in the rear, helping the car stop on a dime.
Dan’s GT-R isn’t all looks though, putting down a solid 320Kw at the wheels on 98RON fuel through a pair of Garrett 2860-9 turbos running 20PSI of boost. It does so with help from of a set of Tomei Poncam Type-A camshafts with JUN adjustable cam gears. The car is also running a ported exhaust manifold with Tomei dump pipes, a pair of Mine’s Pro front pipes feeding into a high flow Apexi catalytic converter and releasing an almighty roar from an Amuse R1 Titan titanium cat-back exhaust. There’s not many things that sound better than a titanium exhaust, let alone one that’s attached to an RB26 engine.
It also features a Plazmaman Pro-Series intercooler, a Trust 13 row oil cooler and Koyorad radiator to help keep temperatures down.
Fuelling is very simple with Sard 650cc injectors and a Nismo 255 fuel pump.
Dan also has a host of Nismo goodies on the car such as a 320km/h and 11,000RPM Nismo instrument cluster and Nismo floor mats which really add to the already special M-Spec leather interior, Nismo oil cap, Nismo intake pipes and more.
Now lets talk about the licence plate, 45OVR, which has to be one of the best I’ve ever come across. For those who don’t know, or aren’t reading this from Australia, if you get caught doing 45km/h or more above the speed limit there is an instant loss of your drivers licence and a very hefty fine that comes with it. This is the highest category of speeding offences in Australia and is commonly knows as, you guessed it, 45 over. A subtle nod to the cars capabilities, and I absolutely love it.
Now did I mention he let me take the 30 minute drive back home from the drivers seat and not the passenger seat? 😎 Not a bad way to start the year!
