The story behind this car starts back in early 2014 when Ryan purchased his S14. Over the course of the next year or so Ryan turned the car into his own, adding subtle yet tasteful modifications, including completing the full kouki body kit and giving it a coat of gorgeous factory blue paint to go along with some polished silver 2 piece Work Meister S1 wheels.
He enjoyed the car for what it was, taking it out and showing it off as his pride and joy. Then suddenly it was gone. Sold. The end of an era for Ryan. He moved on and juggled a large number of cars over the next couple of years, including but not limited to a 180sx, 370z, Evo VIII, R34 Skyline GTT, S15 Silvia and a large array of cars for daily duties as well. However, every time I saw Ryan, the 14 was mentioned in one way or another and it was obvious he missed it. One day I visited Ryan at his work and straight away he mentioned that he's got an opportunity to buy the 14 back from the guy he sold it to and that he was unsure of what to do, but without hesitation I told him to just do it, and the next time I saw Ryan, he had his baby back.
But that isn't the end of it. Straight away the love for that car was reignited. However it wasn't all good times...
Ryan's car was vandalised while parked out on the street one night, mirrors smashed, tyres slashed, every panel keyed and scratched. Ryan was devastated. Unfortunately insurance wouldn't cover it. Ryan posted on facebook to see if anyone had seen this happen or knew anything about it to help with the police investigation, but instead of getting this information he got more than he could ever have asked for. His girlfriend set up a GoFundMe and shared it around too. Within a week the cost of repairs was covered, the community came together and chipped in and local businesses helped with getting the car back on the road as quickly as possible.
The story made the local newspapers and really showed the wider community that the modified car culture isn't all bad. Within a week Ryan's car was back on the road, looking as fresh as ever and he couldn't be any more thankful for everyone that helped out in any way.
